An unknown assailant attempted to shoot Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
The Republican presidential candidate was shot in the upper right ear.
Witnesses said several shots were fired at the scene.
The ex-president, who threatened with a fist, was quickly taken away in a United States Secret Service (USSS) vehicle. There was visible blood on his right ear.
One member of the audience died on the spot and two others were seriously injured.
The shooter was neutralized by security forces. Authorities said they are investigating the incident as an assassination attempt.
