Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has broken the world record in the 400-meter hurdles once again.
At the US Championships in Eugene, the 24-year-old athlete ran a time of 50.65 seconds, improving her two-year-old record set at the same stadium by three hundredths of a second.
In Sunday’s race, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone dominated, beating her competitors by nearly two seconds.
Anna Cockrell took second place with a time of 52.64 seconds, and Jasmine Jones finished third, 0.13 seconds behind.
If McLaughlin-Levrone succeeds in defending her Olympic gold in Paris in five weeks, she will become the first athlete in this discipline to achieve this feat.
